  • Two people died in a townhome fire on Radcliffe Street in Downtown Charleston Thursday morning as officials work to learn what caused the blaze.  ABC 4 News

  • Wendy Kushel, founder and chief growth officer at Wendala’s in Bluffton, was one of 92 winners chosen from 5,000 applicants in the Walmart Open Call held last September — she secured a deal that includes an order for 10,700 jars of hand scrub.  South Carolina ETV

CRIME NEWS

  • A 34-year-old man from California was arrested late Monday in Summerville for kidnapping an 89-year-old woman from her home—she was found bound in her car after a neighbor intervened, and he now faces charges of first-degree burglary, kidnapping, and attempted murder.  ABC 4 News
  • Summerville police arrested Enver Marius Zueros for kidnapping an 89-year-old woman from Pine Forest Country Club on March 9 after a neighbor saw him inside her home—he led a long manhunt and is now in custody facing charges for burglary, kidnapping and attempted murder.  The Post and Courier

CULTURE NEWS

  • Charleston's 78th Annual Festival started Thursday and will last for a month with house and garden tours, lectures, concerts and a special art show at the Aiken-Rhett House that links modern art with the city's history. Contemporary artist Shepard Fairey is featured in the exhibition—proceeds support the Historic Charleston Foundation's work to save old buildings.  ABC 4 News
  • Bear Rinehart from Needtobreathe will perform as Wilder Woods at Charleston Music Hall on March 16 — the side project lets him try new sounds with different musicians while his main band takes a break.
