- ➤ Downtown Charleston roads were closed for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade that took place yesterday — officials planned the closures to keep everyone safe. Live 5 News
- ➤ The City of Goose Creek hosted a fundraiser at Stones Throw Brewing on March 17th to support the South Carolina Firefighters Burned Children's Fund. The event ran from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. as local residents gathered to back the cause. ABC 4 News

- ➤ Entrepreneur Nancy Terebecki-Smith, who began hosting pop-up events with her plant bus in early 2022, opened the Rooted storefront at 232 Ashley Ave in Charleston—located in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood—in August 2024. She offers beginner-friendly plants and local women-made products and hopes to help people start without a lengthy business plan. Charleston Regional Business Journal
- ➤ The final four products—Fiber Optic Cable, 787 Dreamliner, High Noon Sun Sips, and ClimateCool Smartbed—were picked from 45,000 votes in the top eight round to find the 'Coolest Thing Made in South Carolina.' Voting began on March 17 and will end on March 20, and Governor Henry McMaster will announce the winner on March 26 at 10 a.m. at the Statehouse. ABC 4 News

- ➤ A Charleston jury convicted Quantas Green for murdering Erron Javier-Javon Johnson at a West Ashley bar on December 13th, 2021—Green received a 30 year prison sentence after witnesses and video evidence confirmed his violent actions during a pool game dispute. My TV Charleston
- ➤ On Monday morning all lanes on I-526 eastbound near Virginia Avenue were blocked when police responded at (7:45 a.m.) near (Don Holt Bridge) to a hit-and-run in which the driver of an 18-wheeler stepped from his truck, was struck, and died as the fleeing vehicle is under investigation. - ➤ The Credit One Charleston Open announced Meeting Street Schools as its official nonprofit partner to support student programs (including a Teaching Fellows opportunity) and fund classroom libraries. The partnership will bring top players (and pre-match coin flips for teacher recognition) to provide local students with unique court experiences during the tournament. The Daniel Island News

- ➤ A S.C. Senate Finance subcommittee will release its final report later this week on the $1.8 billion accounting scandal that has drawn federal fraud scrutiny. Sen. Larry Grooms said State Treasurer Curtis Loftis mismanaged state funds and should resign — Loftis said he would fight any moves to remove him. Charleston City Paper
