- ➤ Point Hope residents will soon get a new park that features two pools, sports courts, and a pavilion—opening in spring 2026. Luxury apartments at Brooking Square will offer more homes with special amenities starting summer 2026 and a new trail loop called The Waterline will link neighborhoods over the coming years. - ➤ An 11-year-old sixth grader from Daniel Island launched Hoops Against Homelessness in 2020 to help One80Place fight local homelessness—he has raised more than $22,000 and now aims to raise at least $11,000 more before April 7 by hosting events such as a burger night on March 30 and a shootaround at the Daniel Island Rec Center. Dr. David Geier explained on Good Morning Charleston that the swelling matched the severity of symptoms and may lead to new treatments, though he noted it is unclear whether the brain changes or stress from childbirth came first (or vice versa).
