ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nearly 60 volunteers from Wounded Nature gathered early on March 22 to clean the tidal marshes on Drum Island and collected about 3,500 pounds of trash — including fossils, hub caps, and a fiberglass shower enclosure — before finishing by 9:30 a.m. They held a contest won by Tally Carney, who found two fossilized horse teeth during the event. - ➤ The S.C. House advanced a pared-down anti-DEI bill that removes a ban on state contracts with companies with DEI programs—prohibiting government agencies from having an office named with the DEI acronym or requiring diversity training. - ➤ SC letter carriers gathered on March 23rd at the U.S. Post Office on Rivers Avenue to protest proposals that would cut 10,000 jobs and billions from the Postal Service.
