  • The 2025 Rescue Brew Contest is underway as pet owners send in photos showing their pet’s 'it factor' to be on a limited-edition brew label from Commonhouse Aleworks—entries close April 25 with each costing $20—while public voting runs April 26 to May 25 with each vote costing $1.   • Archaeological crews from the Charleston Museum and College of Charleston students uncovered artifacts at the Heyward-Washington House on Friday—small pieces of pottery, glass, metal, and coal that may shed light on early American life.  ABC 4 News
  • Food and Wine Classic returns to Charleston for a second year with wine and food tastings, spirits seminars, and a Grand Tasting featuring winemakers, distillers, and chefs from near and far.   • Fourth-grade student Ansley Gratzmiller from Buist Academy will be honored at the State House today after winning a statewide children’s book challenge hosted by EnlightenSC, which asked students to write and illustrate stories on electricity safety. Buist Academy and the Charleston County School District credited her original work for earning top honors in the individual category.  Count On 2

  • Locals have said the rising parking fees on Isle of Palms make beach visits too hard, so city leaders are looking at bringing back a seasonal parking pass—paid by off-island visitors at a higher price than before—that will be discussed by the city council in May.  ABC 4 News
  • State, county, and city law enforcement will increase patrols on Folly Beach and Isle of Palms as students from Berkeley and Charleston school districts head for spring break next week—police aim to enforce DUI, traffic, and alcohol bans. Officials said enhanced patrols are meant to keep the beaches safe and prevent accidents similar to previous Skip Day incidents—ensuring a secure environment for all visitors.  ABC 4 News
