- ➤ Downtown Charleston’s Colonial Lake is getting a major makeover that started last summer and will finish by October. The park will feature new plant beds and a two-day Bloom Charleston Festival—on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 for families and residents to enjoy. Charleston City Paper

- ➤ Charleston’s Uncle Mingo will perform a ’90s funk reunion set at The Windjammer on Isle of Palms on April 19 — doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets cost $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Charleston City Paper

- ➤ Candidates for the North Charleston District 3 council seat will meet at a forum hosted by the Northwood Estates Civic League on Tuesday, May 13 at Northwood Park gym to help choose a replacement for former councilman Sandino Moses—who was charged with misprision of a felony in February.
