ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A camper fire spread to a home in the Wescott Plantation community in North Charleston around 11:35 a.m. Saturday, displacing two seniors while fire crews took roughly 50 minutes to extinguish the flames and EMS checked one person.  Count On 2

CULTURE NEWS

  • Charleston will host a busy slate of May concerts with Alice Cooper performing at North Charleston Performing Arts Center on May 7, Sturgill Simpson at Credit One Stadium on May 23, and Melissa Etheridge & Joss Stone at Gaillard Center on May 6. The lineup also includes Fitz & The Tantrums and Michael Franti & Spearhead among other shows at local venues.  The Post and Courier

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Charleston International Airport welcomed BermudAir's inaugural flight from Bermuda on Saturday—marking the start of a new weekly route—using a 70-seat Embraer E175 jet.  ABC 4 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Transportation Security Administration reminded South Carolinians that they will need a REAL ID-compliant license or another accepted form of ID to board domestic flights by May 7—officials noted that the REAL ID shows a star in the upper right corner and a standard license will not be accepted.  ABC 4 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Charleston RiverDogs clinched their first series win on Saturday with a 3-0 shutout over the Hickory Crawdads as 4,732 fans watched at the ballpark. Tampa Bay Rays prospect Jose Urbina returned from the injured list to pitch three scoreless innings—helping the pitching staff reach 20 scoreless innings as the team earned its third win in a row.  ABC 4 News
  • Goaltender Seth Eisele returned to South Carolina after completing his loan from the Hershey Bears and rejoined the Stingrays as they hold a 2—0 series lead in the Kelly Cup Playoffs against the Orlando Solar Bears. Game three begins today at 7 p.m. at the Kia Center in Orlando.  ABC 4 News
  • MD Myers scored twice in the opening ten minutes and Arturo Rodriguez earned his first goal as Charleston Battery won 3 to 1 against Indy Eleven in Indianapolis on Saturday night.  ABC 4 News
