- ➤ Lowcountry Food Bank opened a 20,000-square-foot food center in Early Branch today to serve Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties by offering warehouse storage, cold storage and a teaching kitchen+ offices for partner agencies that help distribute food. - ➤ Charleston police arrested two suspects on May 14 for the May 11 domestic violence killing of local salon artist Janet Crouch in West Ashley—Jean Irene Lesperance, 36, who was her ex-boyfriend, and 28-year-old Jacinda Francesca Trader. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Hanahan police have arrested an adult suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old—investigators are gathering evidence to confirm details of the case. Live 5 News

- ➤ Marcus Dyshaun Cumbee, 32, was arrested Tuesday—charged with animal cruelty, animal abandonment, attempted murder, and firearm discharge—after deputies investigating a Cherokee Path Lane residence discovered roaming dogs, puppies, and remains of deceased dogs, and a K9 apprehended him as he fled.
