ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters are investigating a fire at a North Charleston car lot+ officials say the cause is still unknown+ no one was injured. Live 5 News
- ➤ A Mount Pleasant bicyclist, 33-year-old Mackensey Griffiths, was killed when a motor vehicle struck him on Long Point Road May 22 at 1:18 p.m. — he died at the Medical University of South Carolina after sustaining injuries near the I-526 eastbound off-ramp, and police are investigating. ABC 4 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ North Charleston police charged a man in connection with a stabbing incident — further details have not been released. Live 5 News
- ➤ Charleston police arrested three people in connection with a May 18 shooting at a West Ashley apartment complex on Ashley River Road that left one person dead and two injured — including 34-year-old Lucas Ward, charged with murder and firearms offenses — as the investigation continues. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Dorchester County deputies responded to a shooting on the 900 block of Miles Jamison Road at 11:00 p.m. Friday and found one person injured by gunshot wounds who was taken to a nearby hospital while the Criminal Investigations Division investigates the incident. ABC 4 News
- ➤ The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help finding boater Kerry Van Arsdel from Indiana after his unmanned boat was discovered near Butler Island on May 19—personal items were still inside. Multiple agencies are continuing the search today and Monday using boats, drones, a helicopter and airplanes, although air searches have stopped due to forecasted bad weather. Count On 2

- ➤ Seed and Feed Marching Abominable brightened Marion Square on May 24 with a pool party-themed performance that entertained hundreds and held a Pajama March at the U.S. Custom House that night.
