- ➤ The Town of Mount Pleasant opened its expanded Memorial Waterfront Park on June 4 under the Ravenel Bridge at 99 Harry M. - ➤ A man with a history of violent crimes was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole for murdering a North Charleston motel owner in 2022—surveillance footage, physical evidence, and his own statements linked Darnell Dwayne Brown to the crime. Count On 2
- ➤ Seven years after Kurt Wendell Melton was shot on June 10, 2018, Charleston deputies still search for the killer after finding his body near 1146 Greenhill Road on James Island around 11 p.m.—they ask anyone with tips to call Detective Barry Goldstein at 843-554-2241. ABC 4 News
