- ➤ A federal judge in Charleston ruled he will not stop Stephen Stanko’s lethal injection execution scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. — the decision came after his lawyers failed to present evidence of errors in the state’s injection process — limiting appeals to the injection method. - ➤ During a Senate hearing on June 10, Marine commandant Gen. Eric M. Smith said pilot Del Pizzo ejected from his F-35B near Charleston after critical system failures and was relieved from command for punching out of a flyable jet. Sen. Tuberville accused Smith of making a punitive decision (despite investigations that cleared the pilot) and questioned details still redacted (that conceal the full cause of the $136 million loss).
