- ➤ On June 13th, attorney Gedney Howe announced that the South Carolina Shrimpers Association filed a lawsuit against 40 unnamed restaurants in Charleston that allegedly sold imported shrimp labeled as wild-caught seafood (genetic testing exposed the fraud). The legal action is intended to protect the local shrimping industry and ensure truthful seafood labeling. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Police investigated a Saturday night shooting on S Enston Ave & near Simons St where two people were taken to a local hospital with non life threatening gunshot wounds & the investigation remains ongoing. Count On 2
- ➤ Prosecutors dismissed charges against Charles Edward Goodwin Jr. (47) on March 14 for the 1998 murder of Stephanie Thompson because there was not enough evidence (the investigation remains open for new charges). The Post and Courier
