  • Award-winning author André Aciman will speak at the Charleston Library Society on June 26 at 6 p.m. to discuss his new book Room on the Sea: Three Novellas, a collection that examines themes of love, loss and second chances—offering Charleston readers a simple look at deep feelings and memories.  Charleston City Paper
  • Hundreds of residents gathered on Juneteenth at the Charleston Black Expo and Charleston Wine + Food event to honor a historic site significant to the area's black heritage—local organizers shared traditions and reflected on their legacy. SPORTS NEWS

  • Coastal Carolina head coach Kevin Schnall and first base coach Matt Schilling were ejected in the bottom of the first inning on Sunday in Game 2 of the College World Series finals in Omaha for prolonged arguing with the umpire—Schnall faces a two-game suspension that could cost him a Game 3 appearance while Schilling is suspended for one game with extra penalty for further arguing.  Count On 2
  • On Saturday night a sold-out crowd at Patriots Point watched Charleston Battery beat Phoenix Rising FC 4-1 in a rematch of their 2023 USL Championship Final. The team scored early with goals from MD Myers, Arturo Rodriguez, and Houssou Landry and will face South Georgia Tormenta FC on June 28 before hosting North Carolina FC on July 6.  ABC 4 News
