  • East Cooper Community Outreach celebrated a milestone on Monday with the unveiling of a multi-million dollar expansion at its Six Mile Road facility in Mount Pleasant + the five-year project, boosted by a million-dollar donation, added almost 3,000 square feet to combine a clothing closet, dental and medical clinics, and other essential services.  My TV Charleston

  • OSHA is investigating a fatal construction accident in North Charleston after John Stowers, 58 from Summerville, was run over by a backing skid steer vehicle on I-26 near the Weber Boulevard overpass last week — he was pronounced dead at Trident Medical Center.  My TV Charleston
  • A worker died last week at a construction site near I-26 eastbound under the Weber Boulevard overpass in North Charleston when a backing skid steer struck him — identified as 58-year-old John Stowers from Summerville — and the accident is under investigation.  Count On 2

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in South Carolina and across the nation rose slightly last week as oil prices climbed due to the conflict with Iran — GasBuddy data shows that on Monday, the average price in South Carolina was $2.86 per gallon with prices ranging from $2.44 to $3.29, while the national average increased by 9.7 cents to $3.18 per gallon.  ABC 4 News

  • A North Charleston lottery player won $100,000 after matching all five numbers drawn Friday, June 20 with a ticket bought at the Gas N Go at 5995 Rivers Avenue—South Carolina Education Lottery rules state the prize must be claimed within 180 days.  ABC 4 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Charleston RiverDogs will host Daniel Island Night at The Joe on Sunday, June 29, with a 5:05 p.m. game at Joe Riley Stadium and a reserved zone for Daniel Island residents. Ticket sales for the zone end Friday, June 27 at 11:59 p.m. and the ballpark will operate cashless with a limited bag policy—only small clutches (12x12x6) and essential items are permitted.  The Daniel Island News
