  • Dominion Energy advises local customers to set thermostats to 78 degrees and use ceiling fans as the rising summer heat increases energy use — the company also recommends sealing leaks, adjusting blinds, and using major appliances in the cooler evening hours to lower cooling costs.  ABC 4 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Charleston Police Chief Chito Walker announced a juvenile curfew for teens 17 and younger in the downtown Central Business District that will begin Friday, June 27, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.—parents who allow curfew violations may face a $500 fine or 30 days in jail—and a new pilot outreach program will offer safer alternatives for youth.  ABC 4 News
