  • Gas prices in South Carolina fell slightly ahead of the July 4 holiday weekend — local experts say the drop may help drivers save on fuel as they plan holiday trips.  Live 5 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Town of Mount Pleasant is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony today at 10 a.m. to celebrate the completed Pitt Street Bridge micro-mobility project that improves safety and accessibility by separating motorized and non-motorized traffic along Pitt Street—adding pavement markings, signage, pedestrian lighting, updated parking areas, indigenous landscaping, and slope stabilization.  Count On 2
  • The State Department of Transportation had until Monday to refund Charleston County roughly $3.1 million after canceling the Mark Clark Extension project that would have expanded Interstate 526. Councilmember Herbert Sass said the funds—road money—will be used on road projects as work continued on improvements to Highway 17 and Main Road and planning for a fourth lane on Maybank Highway.  ABC 4 News
