- ➤ The State Department of Transportation had until Monday to refund Charleston County roughly $3.1 million after canceling the Mark Clark Extension project that would have expanded Interstate 526. Councilmember Herbert Sass said the funds—road money—will be used on road projects as work continued on improvements to Highway 17 and Main Road and planning for a fourth lane on Maybank Highway.
