ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Rescue crews responded to a swimmer in distress off Pawleys Island and worked to secure his safety.  Live 5 News
  • Emergency crews responded Sunday afternoon when a swimmer was in distress off Pawleys Island—Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office sent a marine unit and drone operator, the U.S. Coast Guard deployed a helicopter, and both Midway Fire Rescue and Pawleys Island Police joined efforts after bystanders failed to rescue the swimmer.  Count On 2

CRIME NEWS

  • Deputies arrested a Pawleys Island man who is accused of firing a gun and fleeing — he remains in custody.  Live 5 News

  • GalaxyCon has acquired Charleston's Incredible Con and will expand the pop culture event set for Sept. 27-28 at the Charleston Area Convention Center. The event normally draws 8,000 to 10,000 fans and may grow to attract up to 50,000 attendees with panels, cosplay contests and celebrity guests.  The Post and Courier
