- ➤ A California man, Enver Marius Zueros, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Aug 25 after he forced his way into the home and car of an 89-year-old Summerville woman and restrained her with a dog leash—he sought money from her during the incident. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Kiawah Conservancy hosted a sweetgrass distribution day on Sunday at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park where local artisans received bundles of freshly harvested sweetgrass (almost 350 plants were cut by volunteers) to support traditional basket making.
