- ➤ On Wednesday, local supporters gathered at Folly Beach County Park to watch five rehabilitated Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles released back into the ocean—each had been injured by fishing gear and treated at the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Care Center, which said it had released nearly 500 turtles so far. - ➤ Berkeley County officials have finalized a plan to build a single-lane roundabout at the busy Daniel Island intersection — construction will begin mid-2026 to ease congestion and reduce delays after 24 crashes since 2018. Daniel Island will also see nearly 50 roads resurfaced as development nears full capacity and local officials strengthen measures on e-bikes, police response and mosquito control.
