- ➤ The Charleston Fire Department said a faulty lithium-ion battery sparked a home fire Friday night on Creek Side Way near Daniel Island as a resident controlled the blaze before firefighters arrived after 9 p.m. & no injuries were reported. ABC 4 News
- ➤ On August 30, a driver died after striking a power pole and tree while attempting to evade police on Clements Ferry Road in Berkeley County — the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the 2005 Honda Accord was involved near Cainhoy and the crash is under investigation. The Post and Courier
- ➤ A structure fire on Rutledge Avenue was quickly contained Friday after contractors renovating a three-story home accidentally left a relocated cook top on—causing smoke from multiple floors and prompting evacuations, though no injuries occurred, per the Charleston Fire Department. ABC 4 News
