- ➤ Local organizers are planning several events to honor 9/11, including the 14th Annual Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run on Sept. 13 at Daniel Island and a Memorial Motorcycle Ride at Lowcountry Harley Davidson. - ➤ On Monday, Porter-Gaud seniors packed 23,080 pre-made oatmeal meals for neighbors in need as part of the school's Senior Day of Caring, beating their goal of 23,000 meals. - ➤ Aisha Patrice Faruq, 22, of Ladson was charged with two counts of attempted murder after deputies responded to a disturbance on the 700 block of East 3rd North Street on Saturday morning—one victim said they jumped from their bicycle to avoid her car before her vehicle struck it and she attempted a second strike while Faruq remains in custody at L.C. Knight Detention Center as the investigation continues. Count On 2
- ➤ A masked suspect broke into a Mount Pleasant home early Friday through an unlocked side door and stole a purse with personal data—neighbors recorded his movements and a delayed police response sparked an internal review of dispatch procedures. Count On 2
