  • An animal adoption center in Charleston rescued a curious kitten that got its head stuck in a ladder on Monday on Folly Road, saying that quick teamwork and some well-placed grease freed the kitten. It is now safe and will be available for adoption soon.  Count On 2

  • A multivehicle collision blocked lanes on Main Road on Johns Island—only one lane remains open near Limehouse Bridge toward West Ashley as emergency crews work while drivers are advised to take alternate routes.  ABC 4 News

  • Construction Resources is building a 45000-square-foot design center in Mount Pleasants Seaside Farms. The facility will showcase 10 product categories and include a 12000-square-foot area for Opustone Stone and Tile Concepts and will open for shopping in spring 2026.  Charleston Regional Business Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Dorchester County deputies responded Saturday morning to a disturbance on the 700 block of East 3rd North Street and arrested Aisha Patrice Faruq, 22, of Ladson, after witnesses said she tried to strike victims with her car by forcing one to jump off a bicycle—she has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and remains in custody.  Count On 2

  • City officials are seeking community input on a 62-acre MUSC rezoning proposal in downtown Charleston — residents will share their feedback to help shape the planned zoning changes.  Live 5 News
  • City officials are asking Charleston residents for input on a proposed downtown zoning change that would affect MUSC operations. A public meeting to gather feedback will be scheduled soon.  Live 5 News
  • Charleston City Council approved mayor William Cogswell signing a Design Agreement with the US Army Corps of Engineers—this action advances the Battery Extension Project into its design and pre-construction phase using $13.325 million in federal funds. The project will extend flood protection along the peninsula and create public space, with construction set to start in the next two years and complete in eight to ten years.  My TV Charleston
