  • Lowcountry mothers are launching new resources to help local families facing long autism service waitlists. The initiative will soon provide support to ease delays for children in the area.  Live 5 News
  • Lowcountry Food Bank will hold its 5th Annual Walk to Fight Hunger on Sept. 20 at Wannamaker Park—residents and groups are invited to form fundraising teams for a 2-mile fun-loop, scavenger hunt, and music event. Organizers plan to use funds raised for programs that support senior meals, childhood nutrition, and fresh produce access.  ABC 4 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Colleton County family was saved in a structure fire — installed smoke alarms alerted them early and officials credit the alarms with preventing injuries.  Live 5 News

  • Accordia, a NJ real estate firm, purchased Remount Business Park in North Charleston for $48.05M with the help of CBRE and Newmark. The 305,114-square-foot site—90% leased and built for flexible office and industrial use—sits near NIWC and North Charleston Port.  Charleston Regional Business Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • WCBD+ app airs a fall harvest special that spotlights generational farmers from Johns Island and a native plant nursery owner from West Ashley hosted by Claudia Landis. The program will air Saturday at 8 a.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.  Count On 2
  • Multi-platinum artist mgk will perform at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island on Saturday, May 30 with Wiz Khalifa and Beauty School Drop as part of his global tour — tickets will be available beginning Thursday, September 25 at noon. The tour will start this fall with 15 stops in North America before a European leg in early 2026 and a 29-date summer amphitheater stretch when mgk returns to the region.  Count On 2
  • The Queen Street Playhouse is premiering a new documentary—'This Happy Land'—by Michael Givens that uses paintings and AI to show Jewish life in historic Charleston. Half the proceeds will go to the Jewish Historical Society to help preserve local heritage.  The Post and Courier

  • The City of Charleston met yesterday at 4 p.m. to review flood plans and resilience projects — members of the Basin Flood Action Committee presented updates on groundwater monitoring, stormwater improvements and flood risk while officials from the College of Charleston and Army Corps provided project details that were streamed live.  ABC 4 News
